"The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." These were the first public words spoken by John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. Why? Because the Kingdom wasn't going to come, the Kingdom of Heaven was come, in the flesh, in the person of Jesus. The Church has been waiting for something that is already here. As American Christians we have this sense of anticipation of something that will happen in the future when Jesus, i.e. the King of the Kingdom, is standing right in front of us. It is time we live for the King in the Kingdom that is in the here and now.
