God is not one that you can come into His presence and leave unchanged.  You will be changed one way or another.  Either you will run to Him or run from Him.  Your experience with Him can draw you closer to Him as you seek more of Him.  In order to truly experience God for who He really is and to have more than a Sunday morning experience.  You must yearn, long for, desire, and hunger for Him and His presence.  Not to slake your spiritual lust but to commune with Him, to be intimate with Him because He has transformed you and you can't help yourself but to seek Him.
