Truth is more than a statement that gets qualified by science, religion, or education. Actually according to our fixed point of reference as Christians, the Bible, Jesus is the truth (John 10:10). We all have a fixed point of reference. The question is “What is it?” What do you tie your soul to: yourself, money, religion, education, or your own opinions?

Honor is almost non-existent in our current society in America. But there is a remnant that still remembers and honors those who have served, given, and paid the ultimate sacrifice by laying down their life to ensure our freedom. This Sunday is an attempt to honor that heritage of service. What could we do that could honor them enough compared to what they have given? Live a life worthy of the sacrifice they gave. Give as they have given. Live as they have lived.

Life can get a little overwhelming at times, to say the least. What do we do when life gets a little complicated and confusing? Do we run to the Doctors, Lawyers, Preachers, or Psychologists? Do we turn to Hollywood, the Malls, or the Internet to shop and ease the pain? Do we turn to alcohol, sex, food, etcetera just to help us deal with life?

Fathers give so much to their children.  Our identity comes from our fathers. Dorthy and her friends were on their way to the Wizard of Oz because they believed that he could give them all, what they needed.  They needed a Heart, a Brain, Courage, and a Home.  However, the Wizard couldn’t do it.  We are all in need of a true father who can give us what we need.  But there is only one father that can do that.  That is only through our heavenly Father.

Takeover Sunday for Pipeline Young Adult Ministry was full of serving, worship, testimonies, and teaching. Our young adults came together to represent the alive and growing community of 18-29 year olds in our area, and they represented it well.

Associate Worship Pastor, Lauren “Kat” Dufrene, delivers a teaching from the standpoint of the calling in Ephesians 5:14 to Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you, that not only responds to that calling but also addresses several different types of “sleepers” that are found in the church today.

Who we are is not something we make up or simply choose. As Christians and lovers of Jesus Christ our identity comes from who He is in us. However, we can never know that unless we spend time with Him in His presence. We are no longer the “king” of our own life. We have given that rule over to Jesus when we gave Him our heart.

Children are not the church of tomorrow! They are the church of today. The Bible says that “God is no respecter of persons” and that includes age. God can use children right where they are and how they are. God is bigger than our limitations. He has no limits. There is no “junior Holy Spirit.” The same Spirit that dwells in us as adults is the same Spirit that resides and moves in children.

We live in a culture in the United States where we demand justice... “It’s the American way.” Unfortunately, what we call justice is nothing more than revenge. “People have to pay. They need to get what they deserve.” is many people’s attitude. Over the past several months rioting and social upheaval have plagued many of our major cities. Many people are crying for justice, but they don’t truly understand God’s justice.

When constructing a house, building, an automobile, computer, etc… you must have blueprints in
order to build it correctly and for it to function as intended. It’s really hard to build something without
the proper blueprints, directions, or instructions. Even if you have the blueprints it’s hard to determine
every detail with accuracy. There are some problems that will arise along the way, so you have to
be ready for them. If you are not, it will stop the project in its tracks and may even jeopardize the whole
endeavor.  It’s the same thing with building your family.
