God did not create man to live alone.  We've all heard the point of Adam and Eve.  However, God also meant other people.  We need each other.  We were created to be together.  No man is an island.  As cliche' as it is it is nonetheless true.  Last week Pastor Pat Murray did an amazing job of talking about partnership.  This week Pastor Allen takes it a step further about the power in those relationships and how God uses them to empower us as His Church and we bring glory and honor to Him.

Unless God builds it, it will not last.  Yes, mankind has build structures that have lasted centuries but we are talking about a life.  Our hope and trust can't be in our own ability to sustain ourselves.  We can't do it without God.  How do we allow God to do the work in our life that will sustain us and out last us?  First and foremost we must pray.  Prayer is not a command but a privilege that we get when we submit ourselves to Jesus and make Him Lord of our life.  And second is fasting.  Fasting is not a welcomed activity in the American Church because it goes against all that our culture teaches.  Indulge, indulge, indulge.  God is telling us to fast and restrain ourselves for a period of time so that we can get direction from the divine contractor on our part in building a life that last and one that bring honor to Him.

The very first Christmas was just like any other simple night in the middle east, with the exception that Jesus, God's son was born into the world.  It wasn't until centuries later that we would start to celebrate it as Christmas.  However, that very first "Christmas" wasn't simple at all.  It was full of supernatural events.  Here on the earth and in the spiritual or supernatural world also.  Mary's pregnancy, Jesus' birth, the angels and shepherds, the Majai, the provisions for their trips to Bethlehem and more were all supernatural events.  This night would be the beginning of where the divine would intersect with mankind once again leading to an event that would not only change the world but the supernatural world as well.
