Resurrection Life Church

The Israelites were promised a land flowing with milk and honey when they left Egypt.  However, they ran into trouble along the way.  Ups and downs, curve balls thrown their way as well as they themselves, messing this up.  But a few of the faithful and courageous men and one in particular stood on God's word that He would provide; Caleb.  Caleb said "give me this mountain".  Not in a selfish and egotistical way but with authority and power because God had made a promise to His people that He would not nor could He break.  So, Caleb with the authority of God's promise declared what was impossible with man was possible with God.

The Family was God's idea, not a man made institution.  God our Father spoke everything into existence.  He however, created man from the dirt of the earth and breathed His breath of life into us making us a living soul with His life within us.  That is why we crave the voice of the Father because we are created to long for it.  That is why so many people are reeling from the lack of hearing their earthly Father's voice.  If that voice is so craved and needed, how much more should we desire to hear our heavenly Father's voice?

The family as we know it world-wide actually comes from how God set it up in the first place.  There is a certain attitude the "Father" wants the family to have and it's the same with the Church of Jesus Christ, or could we say the "Family of God."  Jesus prayed that the disciples would be one as He and the Father were one.  That prayer was just for the disciples in his ear shot but those disciples to come several millennia down the road.  That is us the current Church of Jesus or the current family of God.  Today we will learn what that attitude is.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were 3 young men that knew what honor, courage, wisdom, and trust was especially in the kingdom of Babylon.  They were put to the test when they chose to honor God rather than the ways of the current culture.  They stood, literally, stood their ground while everyone else bowed to the pressure the culture and the government placed on them.  These 3 young men didn't and paid the ultimate price.  But, God showed up in the furnace as the 4th man in the fire.  He will always be with us even in the fire or storms of our life.  Who will we bow to?  Christ or the culture?

Jesus healed many people but one of the most famous and well known was the blind man, Bartimaeus.  Bartimaeus would not give up until Jesus was close enough for Bartimaeus to touch Jesus.  What truly happened was when Jesus to touched Him.  And from that point forward Bartimaeus was never the same nor were the people around him.  Jesus wants to be close enough to you so He can touch you and change you forever.  Let Him closer that you have ever done before.
