We are God's people and as followers of Jesus Christ that means He has a destiny and purpose for us. What are we doing with what God has place in our hands and the time that He has placed us in? No matter the circumstances or the events that are going on in our world, whether is was 2000 years ago or today, God has a call on all our lives for now! We must embrace Jesus' present reign, turn from our the idols of this world and embrace what God has call us to and we will see God move like He has never moved before. For we have been born for such a time as this!

"The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." These were the first public words spoken by John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. Why? Because the Kingdom wasn't going to come, the Kingdom of Heaven was come, in the flesh, in the person of Jesus. The Church has been waiting for something that is already here. As American Christians we have this sense of anticipation of something that will happen in the future when Jesus, i.e. the King of the Kingdom, is standing right in front of us. It is time we live for the King in the Kingdom that is in the here and now.

Today, more than ever, it can be hard not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our day to day lives. Sometimes we need to stop, close our eyes, take a deep breath, and take the time to remember what the Lord has done for us. God is faithful and He offers us peace in the midst of chaos. We just need to remember to take the time to reflect on Gods promises. Don't ever forget that you were bought with the blood of Christ.

Prayer is not some religious duty we have to fulfill. It is a privilege and honor that we get to communicate and be intimate with the creator of the universe, God Himself. Prayer should never be seen as something we have to do but something we get to do. Not all religions believe you can communicate with God. According to Christian scripture we are given the opportunity to pray and it moves the heart of God. There are many reasons why prayer works and hundreds of benefits that prayer gives us. This week we will talk about three of them.

Jesus Christ coming to earth to redeem mankind and bring the hope that had left us at the incident in the garden is what Christmas is all about. It's not about reindeer, Santa, snow and the like. Nothing wrong with those things but there are truly a distraction from the truth of Christmas. And yes there was gift giving at the first Christmas. One of the gifts Jesus gave, and one of the most important ones, was the gift of the Holy Spirit. He sent Him to empower us to be the men and women He has called us to be. Without Him, the Holy Spirit, we can't live this Christian life with power and impact.
