Love. It has been defined by thousands of people over the centuries and we still don't seem to truly understand it. Why is that? Probably because love is more than a concept, more than an emotion, or a religious command. However, the law of love will change your life forever. God is love, Peter, one of Jesus' disciples said very plainly and straight forward. But can we love like God loves? Yes! "But how", you might ask. The only way any of us can, it has to come from Him and must be placed in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. When that happens we then can't help but love, it has now become our nature just like it is God's nature.

The word Covenant is not used much in today's culture and societies. However, God used the word and "cut" Covenant all the time with the likes of Adam, Abraham, David, and with all of mankind through Jesus Christ , just to name a few. God will always keep His covenant, even when the other side fails to hold up their end of the agreement. Why? Because God's nature if faithfulness and He can't deny who He is. When God cut covenant with Abraham that agreement, promise, or whatever you want to call it was for eternity. God will see it fulfilled. The covenant He has made with the blood of His Son Jesus is even greater than the covenant He made with Abraham.

Burden. It is a word in our English language that strikes, fear, uncertainty, and trepidation. Why? Because burden usually mean something that is difficult and hard and in America we don't really like difficult and hard. However, Jesus says that His burden is easy and light. It is still a burden and we still must carry it but if it is the burden He has called us to carry He will give us the strength to not just survive but to thrive as we carry it. There are also many burdens that we carry that are not ours to carry. Unforgiveness, bitterness, fear, etc... We have no business carrying them. The ones that He has called us to carry will bring us life not suck it out of us. I will give life to other also. Can you carry your burden? Yes, you can if you depend on Him and His strength.

We live in a culture in the U.S. that doesn't like to surrender control over to anyone or anything. Why is that? Is it because we want total control of our lives? Is it because we believe that we are the master and commander of our own lives? Yes and Yes. However, the greatest way to truly have a life that not only brings joy and peace to your life but that same to others is when we surrender totally to God and His will for our life. God our creator has a better plan for our life than we do. How do we know that? Because He is our creator, He is good, He is love, He is light and so much more and because He is all that and more He wants all that and more for us. So total surrender in a world that wants total control is truly the best.

Our walk with God is more than just a Sunday morning experience that either challenges us mentally or moves our emotions. Our relationship should be so much deeper than that. Our relationship with God should be transforming. Meaning, that He moves in us in such a way that we are transformed into the man or woman He has destined for us to be. Abraham was a man that God transformed. It wasn't easy but the transformation was worth it.

Honor is something that has been lost in our current U.S. culture. Well, at least on a daily basis. The only thing that has surfaced and overtaken honor of others is the honoring of ourselves. There was someone in the scripture early on that understood honor and it boded well for him. That person is Abraham. Because of him honoring others but putting them above himself God was not only able to bless him God blessed the entire world because of Abraham's honoring. It's time we begin honoring up!
