In our current crazy, mixed up world knowing who you are is not just important it is imperative to our survival and success. We as followers of Jesus Christ must now more than ever understand our identity in Jesus. Without that revelation and understanding we will never impact the world the way Jesus most certainly intended for us to do. This week's message is from our youth pastor Corey Bell. The blessing of family is more than words spoken over you it is what gives you a firm foundation. In the world we live in most people are building their lives on shifting sand and their "houses" are crumbling right beneath their feet. If we live out and give out the blessing we will be building on the rock and no matter what comes our way, especially in our families we will be able to stand strong and weather any storm that comes our way.

The blessing of family is more than words spoken over you it is what gives you a firm foundation. In the world we live in most people are building their lives on shifting sand and their "houses" are crumbling right beneath their feet. If we live out and give out the blessing we will be building on the rock and no matter what comes our way, especially in our families we will be able to stand strong and weather any storm that comes our way.

As a follower of Jesus Christ our life is not our own. Some people would take offense to that but those who have been conquered by the love of God have willingly and gladly given their life complete over to His lordship. Now, we live our life as "living sacrifices". Loving, caring, giving, all done as a sacrifice. But here is the question, is it really a sacrifice when it is motivated by love? It is so much more than a choice, more than a choosing of the will. The living sacrifice is a joyful celebration of the love and grace that has been lavish upon us that we can't help ourselves but live as a sacrifice and give away our lives to those around us.

As a follower of Jesus Christ our life is not our own. We are living in a nation of insecurity. People in general are insecure and powerless to move forward with their life. Why? The breakdown of the family. No matter what a lot of people say the family is the bedrock of society. When families breakdown, then societies breakdown, then nations breakdown, they falter and disintegrate from within. How do we build a nation of secure, strong, loving, and people whose identity is not in their outward appearance and accomplishments? How do we raise children to go for their dreams and in the face of difficult still stand strong? By building strong, secure, stable families. This week is part two of a series on the family entitled The Blessing.
