Jesus was the greatest leader the world has ever known.  After 2000 years and we are still learning from His words of wisdom.  He also had a way of leading that can be used today to change the world.  He had 3 close friends, Peter, James and John, then he had the 12 disciples, and then the 70 that He sent out to the multitudes so that the world would be changed.  Pastor Larry Stockstill shares with us 7 lessons that Jesus taught the 70 that are as applicable today as they were centuries ago.

There were two trees in the garden that God brought to the attention of Adam and Eve and they were the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  Adam and Eve partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil of which God specifically told them not to eat from but they did and died spiritually that day and passed that spiritual death down to the rest of humanity.  Unfortunately we have been eating from that tree ever since.  When we eat from the tree of life we bring life to all those around us.  Just like God intended from the beginning.

We are living in a world that is constantly changing.  Every morning there is something new and different.  What are we to do in a world of uncertainty?  We as mighty men, women and children of God are to run to the battleline.  We are people with hope and certainty.  Hope in God and His word to us that He would never leave us nor forsake us and certainty that He is always the same yesterday, today and forever.  Even when are faithless He remains faithful.

Many people think that prophets vanished or were done away with when Jesus was raised from the dead and ascended and the infilling of the Holy Spirit came. (Check out Acts 1-3) Prophet; the ordinary Hebrew word for prophet is nabi, derived from a verb signifying, "to bubble forth", like a fountain; hence, the word means one who announces, or pours forth, the declarations of God. Are there modern day prophets? Yes. God uses men and women to speak into peoples lives and speak forth His commands and intentions. Is the Holy Spirit not suppose to speak into our lives? Yes, He does, absolutely. What do modern day Prophets have to do with God speaking into our lives? He can use them to get our attention, affirm what we know He has already spoken, or to publicly declare God intentions and plans. That is one of the reasons why each year Resurrection Life has a series of meetings called The Worship and Prophetic Conference where we invite men and women who have the gift of prophecy (Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12) to come and allow God to use them and speak into peoples lives.

Life has been a little uncertain these past few months.  Many people have lost faith in everything from the medical world to government and to big corporations.  Why?  Because things keep changing.  Everyday there is something changed about the world which we live in.  Nobody is certain about anything anymore.  However, there is one who never changes, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He is our Rock; immovable, unchangeable, and forever firm.  You can always count on Him.
