Wow that is a pretty tough statement but so true. One of the wisest men that ever lived, King Solomon said it in his book, Proverbs. Today Pastor Allen will deal with the importance of vision for yourself, your family and the church as we head into a brand new year.

Our value as humans doesn't come from our accomplishments or who we know, or our knowledge. It comes from our creator, God. As Christians we should understand this more clearly than the rest of the world as we are in relationship with God. When we find our value in any other person and/or thing than God we begin to live life without purpose or a divine plan, selfishly, and constantly looking for that value that can only be found in our Father God.

When Jesus arrived on the scene in Bethlehem well over 2000 years ago He wasn't here to just give us a reason to have a holiday. He was here to enact a covenant between His father and Himself that would save all of mankind and fulfill His father's purposes and will. Covenant is not something we hear about in our current culture. Why? Because covenant is more than just an agreement. It is deeper than a contractual piece of paper. Lawyers and courts don't decide the outcomes and/or the administration of the covenants. A covenant is a more than that. The covenant between Jesus and His father changed the world.

The moments Jesus was born all of history was changed. It was His presence that changed everything. It was more than just another birth, more than a supernatural event, it was extravagantly, momentous, gargantuan, and monumental because GOD had come to earth. His presence was not some alien entity that existed in the minds of men but He was now here among us, He was and now is with us!

There are moments in history that changes the entire world. There are events that alter the state of humanity as we have always known it. There are moments where God showed up in the story of mankind and changed everything from those moments forward. The birth of Jesus Christ was without much fanfare and exultation here on the earth but all of heaven understood what it meant and there was much celebration and fanfare about His coming. Humbly He came but it was not without eternal affect.

Hurry up and wait! That is pretty much how life goes. Patience is a virtue but unfortunately not many of us have it in this current culture. Waiting is hard when we don't have the right perspective on life. When we see life through the lens and filter of our own selfishness it is difficult and frustrating to be patient. But when we see life through the eyes of God and the ultimate goal of our Father then it is much easier to "wait". Let patience have it's perfect work in you!
