Water Baptism is not just a tradition of the Church.  It is so much more than that.  Water Baptism is a powerful expression of gratitude and appreciation to the one who has saved us, set us free, and empowered us with His Holy Spirit to live for and with Him.  There is a spiritual power that is manifested in the physical when people follow through in water baptism.  Is there power in the act? No.  Is there power in the obedience? Yes, because you are submitting yourself to the Lordship of Christ who then pours out the power of His Spirit on you enabling you to walk, live, breath, and move in, through and with Him.

Life in 2020 has been challenging to say the least.  We started off 2020 with a goal of running our race with power, peace, and potential but then everything began to unravel.  What are we to do as followers of Jesus Christ?  We still run.  We still run our race.  Our race is an amazing race that will not only help us in this life but running our race can and will help the world around us.  Don't grow weary in well doing.

How do we continue to grow in our walk as we face each day? Why is it so important that we do? There's a battle going on between spirit and flesh that we must overcome, but we cannot do it alone. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, then our own spirit is directly impacted by Him. We cannot help but become more like Him, living a life guided by and yielded to Him. He is the Helper, who helps us to walk forward.

So, the question that remains is who is your God? Is He what you’ve created in your mind to be or does He existed outside your own constructs and mind building skills? If we see God for who He really is, we will never be put to shame or fear the future. Why? Because He is so much bigger than what you, me, or the greatest minds of mankind could ever imagine!

We all have a destiny to fulfill that God has for each one of us.  Whether we are followers of Jesus or not.  The times in which we live in are chaotic at the very least and insane at the worst.  No matter what our times and circumstances are like, this is our time as Christians to live a life that honors God, people and magnifies Jesus.  As Jesus followers He very clearly told us how we are to live in these times.  We should walk as wise people who redeem the time because the days are evil, and we have hope that the world needs.  This is our time to shine as lights that point to our heavenly father.

Life is full of ups and downs.  Sometime more downs than ups.  But as a follower of Jesus we know that the same God that is on the mountain top with us is the same God who will also be with us in the valleys of life.  You can find beauty in the darkest and most challenging times of your life.  Jesus never promised us a problem free life, but He did promise us a stress free one.  “My peace I give you.” Jesus declared. Not just to His disciples that were standing in front of Him but all the ones that would come after them.  That’s you and me.  Today look and find the beauty in the valley.
