Life is full of ups and downs. Sometime more downs than ups. But as a follower of Jesus we know that the same God that is on the mountain top with us is the same God who will also be with us in the valleys of life. You can find beauty in the darkest and most challenging times of your life. Jesus never promised us a problem free life, but He did promise us a stress free one. “My peace I give you.” Jesus declared. Not just to His disciples that were standing in front of Him but all the ones that would come after them. That’s you and me. Today look and find the beauty in the valley.

If we are a body of believers that make up the body of Christ here on the earth, then just like our physical bodies that have very different functions that each part does, then we as the body of Christ do as well. No one is more important that another or less than another. We all play our part in the body. We must not just learn this with our intellect but with our hearts, so that our soul will manifest in the physical the perfect working of the body together. Each part plays its part to bring honor and glory to the one who created it in the first place. When the body is whole, we then can reach to the world around us and offer them the hope, joy, peace, and love that binds us together.

Over the last two millennia the Church has been called many things. However, what God calls her is the Body of Christ and as that body we are connected to Jesus and He to us. When Saul was persecuting "Christians" Jesus spoke to him on the road to Damascus and asked him, "Saul, Saul why do you persecute Me?" Why would Jesus ask such a question? Because we, the Church, are his body. If we love one another (the Church i.e.the Body) we love Jesus and vice versa. "If we have done it unto the least of theses we have done unto me." says Jesus. Let's love Jesus by loving one another, the Body.

Our heart is the most important thing about us. Not our personality. Not our words. Not our attitude. Our heart. Out of our heart flows the issues of life. We must have a settled heart before we can ever have a free heart. If our hearts are settled with God and our relationship with Him then He is able to work in it and set our heart free. Once our heart is settled and free we can be the men and women that He created us to be and change the world in which we live.

From out of the abundance of your heart will you speak. Your heart is the most important part about you. Not your knowledge, your aspirations, your accomplishments, your relationships, or your attitude. All these things flow from the condition of your heart. If a person’s heart is sick, then they will have a sick life. But if their heart is healthy their life will be healthy. God put more emphasis on the condition of your heart than He did the actions of your soul. If you heart is in the right place with God then your life will flow with hope, love, peace, joy, and the rest of the fruit of the Spirit, to the world in which you live.

Jesus was the greatest leader the world has ever known. After 2000 years and we are still learning from His words of wisdom. He also had a way of leading that can be used today to change the world. He had 3 close friends, Peter, James and John, then he had the 12 disciples, and then the 70 that He sent out to the multitudes so that the world would be changed. Pastor Larry Stockstill shares with us 7 lessons that Jesus taught the 70 that are as applicable today as they were centuries ago.
