Doubt can be troubling and it can lead to a place where we find true hope and peace in a God that not only loves us but understands us. Doubt that leads to not seeing our prayers answered is troubling to say the least. How can we pray without doubt? If we see the our world as dependent upon what we can do and accomplish only and not trusting in a God that is all powerful, all knowing and ever presence we will doubt Him every single time. When we are secure in His love for us then we will put our trust in Him and His ability to make things happen and when we trust Him we believe that He can do all things and when we believe we actually will obey and do so without any doubt that He will do what He says he will do.
Praying without doubt is not something written for the fiction novels of Christianity and of men and women of ancient times but something you and I can do as lovers and followers of Jesus Christ in the here and now. The apostle James wrote in his letter to the church that we should “count it all joy” when we go through various kinds of trials. I don’t know many people if any that do that. Who wants to go through hard times? Nobody. We can go through them with the peace, power and protection of God if we stand in the “gap.” Not for yourself but for others. When we do that and we pray for others and the world around us our “issues” seem to get smaller and smaller as we prayer.
Pastor Allen finishes up a two week message about the prayer that changes history by focusing on the subject of doubt and how to pray without it.
