Over the past few week we have been talking about prayer and how it can change history. We can affect change in our world by praying. First week we talked about the importance of prayer and what it actually is and last week it was about praying without doubt and this week we learn how we can pray with expectation.
Most Christians pray as if the words they using are some magic words that may and may not work. Like using the word “abracadabra” to make something happen but not really expecting anything to happen. As lovers and follower of Jesus Christ we should pray with expectation. Not because we are praying with great spiritual and theological terminology but because we know God loves us and told us to ask Him anything in Jesus’ name and He would do it. We pray with expectation because we are praying in the context of the relationship we have with God.
Not only does prayer affect the spirit realm but it affects our physical world as well. It has been scientifically proven over and over again that people who pray and/or attend religious services are healthier and live longer than those who don’t. Even if you are not a religious person from the evidence of the studies you should at the very least pray to God so that you are physical more healthy.
Pastor Allen Hickman finishes this series on prayer teaching us how we can pray with expectation, in faith and see God do what He said He would do.
