Anger is a part of our life but our life should not be dictated to by our anger. Anger is typically a selfish response to something that didn’t go our way. We didn’t get what we wanted, it didn’t turn out our way, or somebody said something that hurt our feelings. These are just a few reasons why we get angry. There are, a myriad of reasons for our anger but we don’t have the time or the space to go into them. Me, myself and I is the foundation of our anger. What are we to do with anger? How do we deal with it?
Our country has been growing in anger for decades and with the onslaught of the current political condition it is getting worse, faster. What are we as Christians called to do in the wake of this tidal wave of anger? God gives us specific instructions on how to deal with anger. Paul tells us to be angry but do not sin. This tells us anger is not a sin but how we respond and deal with it is where sin come in.
Pastor Allen uses humor to soften the blow, so as not to incite anger, as this week messages deals with why we get angry, what anger produces and how to deal with anger in us and in the lives of others. He also sums it all up by showing us how to live a life of peace and how to help other do so as well.
