Life can be a little stressful at times, to say the lest. Can we live a stress-free life? Can we live anxiety free? The answer is a resounding YES! “How?” you might ask. Let’s go back to the beginning before we answer the how. At the fall of mankind in the garden of Eden sin brought a new wave of problems that were non-existent pre-fall. Problems like; what are we going to eat?, where are we going to live?, what about clothing? and these were just a few of the physical problems. What about relationships? Emotions? Family? You get the picture?
As life continued our problems seemed to just compound. It was one thing after another, one thing on top of another and the list went on and on. Sounds kind of like life in today’s modern society, does it not. People in ancient Greece had life issues like we do today. However, there was a man who had a unique perspective on life in that culture, who offered hope for those dealing with anxiety. He said if we are not anxious for nothing but let God know what we need and we do that through prayer and thanksgiving, that God would give us a peace that would keep our hearts and mind strong through His son Jesus. (Philippians 4:6 & 7 paraphrased).
To be anxious for nothing in this crazy, crazy world seems like a dream but it’s not. It can be a reality it is all in whom you put your trust and faith in. If we think the government is the answer for all our problems, then we are probably going to be stressed during an election. If we think if just we have enough money all our problems are going to be solved, then we are going to fret when the stock market doesn’t do well. But if we put our trust in the God who created us and has our best interest in mind we are going to walk in a peace that the rest of the world doesn’t understand.
