As Christian we should stand out in our world. In the world that we all live in and in our local world around us everyday. Work, Home, Play, Community: these people that we interact with should see a glaring difference in how we live and move from how they live and move.
We live by a different set of rules or guidelines if you will. Why? Because we are the children of God, the elect and He has a way of living that not only brings life to us but He can bring life to the world through us. But He can't do that if we are in a constant state of confusion in who we are and who we belong to.
The Church of Jesus Christ is more, so much more, than a gathering of people that happens every week on Sunday at 10:00 am. It's more than preaching, singing, teaching and learning. We are to be Jesus to the world. We love, live and give like He did and when we do we can see our world changed.

The Church of Jesus Christ is more than just an organization but a living organism that has lasted for over 2000 years amidst countless attempts to destroy it. Why has it not been destoryed? Because we are the children of God and are His family. We aren't building our kingdom. It is His kingdom come, His will be done. Not ours.
We are a family that has been called out of this world and called into His family. A family this is connected throughout the world and throughout history. We are a family that loves, forgives, gives grace and are lead by laws of an UNSEEN kingdom.
May we as His church, His family bring life wherever the family goes and lives. Whether that be in India, Russia, Europe or the United States. We are family.

Part of who we are, are the gifts and callings God give us. They are simply a PART of who we are. Many people confuse their identity with their gifts and calling. God gives us these gifts to equip us and to bring glory and honor to His son and our Lord, Jesus. Remember they are gifts from God, they are not our own. We don't own the gifts and calling but we do steward them. They are given to each person as God see fit and for His glory. It is our responsibility to use them properly and not to derive any self worth from the gifts.
Our worth comes from our father God and not His gifts to us. No one should take the glory for receiving a gift but give honor and glory to the giver of the gift. May we as His sons and daughters honor Him with all the gifts and callings we have received from Him.
One of the most amazing gifts that He has given us is the Holy Spirit, the power third of the Trinity. Jesus, had to leave earth in order to send us the gift of the Holy Spirit who empowers us with all that we need to be His disciples & change the world.

Our lives are dotted with defining moments that shape who we are and what we do. That is the funny about defining moments, they define us. Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples and one of his inner circle of three had a few defining moments in his life that we all can identify with.
One was when Jesus called him to be a disciple. Another was when he walked on water. That was truly a defining moment. The Mount of Transfiguration and the worst day of his life. The day he denied ever knowing Jesus.
What would have happened if Peter would have stopped after his denial? He would have been forever defined as a coward. But Peter didn’t stay there in his failure but he pressed on in the fact that Jesus loved him and was restored and became the leader of a fledgling new religion that would impact the entire world for thousands and thousands of years.
We cannot let our failures or sins define us. We must allow our Father God define who we are. We must agree with what He says about us. We are defined by our Father and who He says we are!

There is power in worship. There is a power that can change us into the image God desire for us, through personal worship. When we cultivate a personal worship time, alone with God, our perspective on life, people and God begins to change. We begin to see God for who He really is and not through our tainted lens.
As our personal worship grows deeper and more intimate our faith will be strengthen. We will need our faith to be strengthen in order to fulfill the destiny God has for our life.
We are to be consumed with the power and presence of God and worship of Him rather than consuming worship and His presence.
These are just a few things that will happen as we develop a personal worship time with God on a daily basis. This week's guest speaker Ed Ivie will share in depth about what happens in and through us in the message entitled "The Power of Personal Worship."

If we as the body of Christ are going to reach our world with the love of God we are going to have to create a culture of team work. This means that we have to impact our world by doing a few things.
First and foremost we must have a desire to grow. To grow in Christ means that we have a healthy and reverent fear of God and not a timidity. It is the fear of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom.
Secondly, we have to desire to live righteously and godly. Our love for God should have us clinging to the cross and to a spiritual life. We must seek forgiveness for our shortcomings and sins and move on with open mouths and hearts.
Third, we must desire to please God. Our first thoughts in the morning should be, of and on Him. The word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Why? Because our hope and life are in Him and what He says and not our own wishes, wants and whims.
We can as disciples of Christ create a culture within the church that moves the church forward as the body of Christ that brings glory to Jesus and not herself.
